Father of Lights

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” Father of lights? What a curious phase. I just had to ask, “Father, What does that mean?”
I didn’t get an answer during my prayer time. But later that night, my answer came in a dream. It was very short and only lasted about a minute. In the dream, all I could see was my index finger on my right hand. It had a long, deep cut across the finger tip. Out of the cut poured rays of light. You know, like after a summer storm has passed and out of the darkness, there is a break in the clouds, and streams of lightbeams come cascading down. John 12:36 “While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.” Beams of exceedingly bright light poured out of me. That’s all there was. But I understood. God is Light and He is in Us. He’s the Father of Lights. We’re His little lights…His children. Philippians 2:15 “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;”
