GET OUT OF MY WAY
Stop at the bank, get gas, drive through McDonald’s, jump on the expressway, go home. The drive home on a Friday night is always exasperating, especially when you live in a big city. People are in such a hurry. They think they are the most important people in the whole world and everyone else should get out of their way. “...if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” Galatians 5:3
Can’t wait! Coming through! Me first! They don’t realize it, but they all end up at the same place in the same line. They believe they’re living righteously and on the road to heaven. “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore, the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” Ecclesiates 8:11
They shove and push to get ahead in line, only to find that when the door is finally opened, it is the door to hell! The bible says in Ephesians 4:3, “Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving. . .” In Galatians 5:20, “As we have, therefore, opportunity, let us do good unto all men . . . .” And in Romans 12:10, “...in honor, preferring one another.”
So let them pass, take skips, shove by. After all, we’re not really headed in the same direction as they are.
