Have you ever made instant pudding? Well if you haven’t, let me tell you how it’s done. You pour the dry pudding mix into a bowl and add 2 cups of cold milk. Next you stir for 2 minutes. Viola! PUDDING! See, you have to stir it up, or you will not get pudding. And when you do stir it up, the dry pudding mix now becomes something all together different. Sweet, smooth, creamy pudding.
That’s what I look for in Christians. Pudding? No, silly, not pudding. Lots of people in the world hear the word of God and go, "Oh yes, I understand." But it doesn’t CHANGE them. The word of God has power that literally CHANGES who you are, making you to become ‘like him." When the word of God is preached, those words are making you to become like Him. Kinda like pudding. It starts in one form, and them changes into something different. The word of God is the pudding mix, and the milk is your faith. But unless you stir it up, it will never become pudding.
Heb 4:2 "For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it."
