Baaaa!

There’s a wolf among us, was the warning that came from the God. That was pretty scary to hear and I was concerned. And if you know me at all, you know I immediately went to God and said, “Father, who is it?!?”

He didn’t tell me…I don’t even think I expected He would. As the days went on, I continued to talk to Him about it. Not like “Oh God, I just HAVE to know who it is!” But more like, “there is an enemy amongst us. That’s bothersome to me. I don’t wanna ‘buddy up’ to someone who wants to destroy me and have me for dinner…and I don’t mean as a dinner guest!”

So back to God I went. “God, I’m really uncomfortable with this knowledge. It makes me afraid.” But God wasn’t saying anything. After a few attempts to get through to God, I finally just opened my mouth, and with a very good imitation of a sheep, I said, “Baaaa.” I sounded just like a lamb. Then I did it again: “Baaaa” I guess it was just my way of expressing to God, “God, I am your helpless little lamb and I know there is a dangerous wolf and I’m scared!”

It may sound silly to you, saying “baaa,” but my God heard me. And He told me something that I want to share with you. He said this: “stick close to the shepherd.” What do sheep actually do if there is a wolf near by? I dunno. I’m not a shepherd. But it sure seemed right to me that I would want to stick close to the one who is my protection. Isn’t God cool? He not only warns us…but, in addition, He does not leave us comfortless. With the knowledge that an enemy was close by, also came the knowledge that He is my protection and if I “stick close to the shepherd” everything will be alright.
